History in the making yesterday at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel where 80 chefs worked through the night to create a 1,068-meter-long yule log cake, smashing the the previous Guinness record of 207.8 meters.
The festive treat used a remarkable 526 kilos of fresh cream, 333 kilos of chocolate, 169 kilos of cane sugar, 752 organic eggs and 869 kilos of wheat flour.
Want to try it? Too late! Punters wanted to taste the new champ so bad it was sold out by noon at a price of RMB2 per centimeter, with the money collected donated to support the medical needs and treatment of four children from Shanghai Children’s Hospital of Fudan University who require chemotherapy.
