U.S.-born singer/MC/actor Wilber Pan will show his versatility at the 2012 Shanghai Xintiandi New Year countdown gala.
To welcome the arrival of 2012, Shanghai Xintiandi has announced that its New Year countdown gala will be “more attention-grabbing than ever.”
The three-hour show will celebrate 10th anniversary of Xintiandi, the shikumen-themed tourist and entertainment area in downtown Shanghai.
The 2012 countdown gala will be held in its traditional location, a temporary performance area set up around Taiping Lake (太平湖).
Unique to the 2012 festivities is a brand new set design by renowned Hong Kong designer Zhou Bingkun (周炳坤), who was part of the design team for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The event organizer is also planning to erect a massive, 250-square-meter LED video screen.
Performance highlights include Taiwanese pop star Wilber Pan (潘玮柏), Mavis Fan (范晓萱) and Singaporean singer Tanya Chua (蔡健雅).
A fashion show featuring the latest designs by students from Raffles Design Institute is also planned.
Tickets to the event cannot be purchased directly. Spend a total of RMB 888 at any Shanghai Xintiandi or Corporate Avenue retailer from December 11-30 to receive a ticket.
